Frequently asked questions

Common questions about our Pilates and Yoga classes, what to expect, and how these practices can support your wellbeing journey.
Pilates focuses primarily on core strength, posture, and precise movement patterns, whilst Yoga combines physical postures with breathwork and mindfulness. Both practices complement each other beautifully - Pilates builds strength and stability, whilst Yoga enhances flexibility and stress reduction.
Absolutely. Our classes welcome all levels, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Our instructors provide modifications and alternatives for every exercise, ensuring everyone can participate safely and effectively regardless of fitness level or experience.
Just bring yourself in comfortable clothing and a yoga mat. We provide the rest including blocks, straps, and any other props needed. Wear layers as you may warm up during class, and avoid overly loose clothing that might get in the way.
We keep our classes small with 10-12 participants maximum. This allows our instructors to provide individual attention, offer personalised modifications, and ensure everyone feels supported whilst still enjoying the energy of group practice.
Yes, both Pilates and Yoga can be adapted for most physical conditions. Please inform your instructor about any injuries or limitations before class. We can modify exercises and provide alternatives to ensure you practice safely and beneficially.
For beginners, we recommend 1-2 classes per week to start. As you build strength and familiarity, many people enjoy attending 2-3 times weekly. Consistency is more important than frequency - regular practice, even once weekly, brings significant benefits over time.
Regular practice improves core strength, flexibility, posture, and balance. Many people also experience reduced stress, better sleep, increased energy, and improved mental clarity. The combination of physical movement and mindful breathing supports both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Movement practices work excellently alongside our other services. Pilates and Yoga can enhance the benefits of physiotherapy, support osteopathic treatment, extend the effects of massage therapy, and provide stress relief that complements psychological services. Many practitioners recommend them as part of comprehensive wellness care.
Your first class will include a brief introduction to the practice, gentle warm-up movements, and basic exercises with plenty of guidance. Don't worry about 'getting it right' - focus on moving mindfully and listening to your body. Our instructors will help you modify anything that doesn't feel comfortable.
